Why We Created Pop Lemon 🍋

When I became a mom, I knew there would be important conversations I would one day have with my daughter, Gemmy.

As a registered nurse, I understand how much it matters for girls to feel informed and prepared before their first period. But as a mom, I wanted more than a collection of supplies.

I wanted Gemmy to feel confident instead of scared, supported instead of embarrassed, and completely comfortable coming to me with questions.

I also knew that even the most loving adults do not always know how to begin these conversations.

That is why we created Pop Lemon: a first period kit designed to help girls feel ready and give the trusted adults who love them a meaningful place to start.

Building Pop Lemon Together 🍋

What began as a mother’s wish to prepare her daughter quickly became something even more meaningful.

The greatest gift of this journey has been building Pop Lemon alongside Gemmy. Every idea, design, and decision has become an opportunity to show her that her voice matters, her dreams matter, and that she is capable of creating something meaningful in the world.

More than a first period kit, Pop Lemon reflects the lessons I hope to pass on to my daughter: to lead with kindness, believe in herself, never be afraid to pursue big ideas, and always know that I am her safe space.

Together, we hope to help girls feel more confident, support families through important conversations, and remind girls everywhere that they are capable of more than they can imagine.

Because every girl deserves to feel prepared, supported, and celebrated.

Meet Gemmy 🍋

Gemmy is the inspiration behind Pop Lemon and my favorite business partner.

She is thoughtful, creative, honest, and deeply caring. She notices when someone needs support and has a way of making people feel less alone.

From the beginning, Gemmy has helped shape the ideas, messages, and little details inside Pop Lemon. She reminds me to see the experience through a girl’s eyes—not only through the eyes of a mom or nurse.

One of my greatest hopes is that this journey teaches her that her voice matters, her ideas have value, and kindness can become something powerful.

And together, we hope Pop Lemon helps other girls feel ready, supported, and proud of the changes ahead.

Support for her. Confidence for you.

Everything she needs for her first period, plus conversation starters, thoughtful guidance, and the words to help you know what to say.
